Then adjust the tempo slightly up and you will find it will now play back faster but stay on pitch. You probably have the track set to Not Follow. Often it is the same but be prepared to adjust.Ĭlick on the track and open the inspector. So I aim for the start of the tracks to be tight with the S1 metronome on say bar 3 then I go right to the end and often it is still in perfect sync but if not it might just need the very slightest of tempo change in S1 to get the end to line up. Once done open up the tracks again say back to bar 2 etc so you can hear any pickups etc.(with snap ON now as well) Leave some space prior so you can move the whole group around in small increments etc. Then switch snap off in S1 and just move the whole group around so it lines up with say bar 3 as well. I usually slide all the clips inward right up to the very first transient. The very start of an arrangement exported from another DAW can be tricky as well. But usually I have found you can get S1 to be perfectly aligned at the end of the day. And it might take a very slight tempo tweak to do it. It is just a matter of getting the very start and the end of the imported tracks locking into the S1 metronome. I have found from experience that if a session was done in another DAW to a click there is no reason why all the audio tracks cannot come in as a group and stay locked together as a group. The main thing is to always keep the imported tracks together as a group and do not start to slide audio tracks around individually or even worse cut them up in segments and start aligning those. You have to get the S1 grid locked up nice and tight to the whole of your imported audio tracks first. Once all this is done the midi track should play perfectly because it is stretching to the S1 grid and nothing else. Tempos from DAW to DAW do NOT always match up perfectly. You may find the S1 tempo is 127.9 or 128.1 BPM in order to do this. Then go right to the end of the session and fine tune the tempo so the S1 grid is still lining up perfectly right near the end. Make sure the audio lines up tight with the S1 click right at the start. Then just fine tune the tempo setting in Studio One so only the grid moves slightly. Import all the audio tracks and set them to not follow. Or the (PT) metronome into audio I find is also helpful.Ĭreate a new session Studio One and set the tempo before any importing takes place eg 128 BPM. It is smart to convert the drum midi track into audio as well prior to export. When importing from other DAW's obviously all the consolidated tracks have to be the exact same length and you need to know the tempo of the original session.
